The 34th Police Precinct is offering free bicycle registration at the station on Broadway at W. 184th Street.

Bicycles are marked with a unique identification number using an engraver and then an NYPD decal, which is difficult to remove, is affixed to the bicycle. If someone tries to remove it, the word "void" appears on what remains of the decal.

The decal and ID make it easier to recover a stolen or lost bicycle because the police can trace it back to the registered owner.

Call Police Officer Angela Williams, the 34th Precinct crime prevention officer, at 212-927-9301 to schedule a registration.
